SCHMETZ GmbH – The vacuum furnace specialist
In 1945 the company SCHMETZ GmbH was founded as a private business. Besides the manufacturing of furnaces a heat-treatment company was affiliated to SCHMETZ at the beginning. Especially during the last 55 years SCHMETZ GmbH specialized in the manufacturing of industrial vacuum furnaces for the heat-treatment as well as for high-temperature brazing technology for different industrial sectors. Besides standard furnaces SCHMETZ offers also special furnaces for single companies as unique solutions based upon technologies which were already established in the industry before.
SCHMETZ has numerous technical features as a result of the company s development leading to repeated innovative solutions regarding to the different treatment processes hardening, tempering, brazing, sintering and also to the complete technical offer.
Today SCHMETZ is able to offer state-of-the-art furnaces as the following types:
- chamber furnaces (horizontal furnace, loaded from the front)
- bottom loader furnaces (bottom loader, loaded from the bottom)
- top loaded furnaces (top loader, loaded from the top).
Standard furnaces are supplemented by furnaces made to order which meet the special requirements of particular industrial sectors. For more than 55 years the furnaces are especially designed for the heat treatment and high-temperature brazing technology in vacuum for the following treatments :
- diffusion annealing
- recrystallisation annealing
- soft-annealing
- solution annealing
- ageing
- hardening
- tempering in convection atmosphere with protective gas (system *FUTUR*)
- "sub zero" treatment down to -145°C (system *Cool Plus*)
-
Cryogenic cooling
- high-temperature brazing
- sintering
